Telugu actor Prabhas to act in Tamil film

Samudrakani who is currently acting in an untitled film directed by Sasikumar will be directing two films. While speaking about this, he said,” I had directed the Telugu film Sambo Siva Sambo which is the remake of the Tamil film Nadodigal. I will be directing a film produced by Sasikumar. He will also do the lead role in that film.

The shooting of this film will commence during the month of July. I will act in a film if it has a character. In the beginning of next year, I will be directing a film in Tamil and Telugu. I will be introducing the Telugu hero Prabhas in Tamil film. I am writing a screenplay and dialogues based on the novel ‘Sivam’ written by Indira Soundarajan.

Ritz Icon Awards for Filmmaker Selvaraghavan

GOD AND SEX: RGV’S FILM ON NITHYANANDA

Director Ram Gopal Varma is adept in converting real life incidents to movies. The director has drawn inspiration from several such incidents in the past. He was in the eye of the storm several months ago, during the Mumbai attack incident, when he visited the Taj Hotel along with the then Maharashtra Chief Minister and his actor son to get first hand information on the terrorist attack to convert it into a movie.

The director has now decided to make a film based on Nithyananda. He has said that on seeing the video clippings on television, he has drawn inspiration to make a film. The movie would be titled as God and Sex, sources say.

TAMANNAH CONDEMNS FANS

Fans and movie buffs in Tamil Nadu have been doing Paal Abhishegam to the cut-outs of their favorite film stars since a very long time. Many top heroes, including Rajinikanth’s cut-outs, did not escape this practice during their film’s release. The latest to join this bandwagon is Tamannah. The fans in Tuticorin inaugurated the All India Thanga Padhumai Tamannah Fans’ Club and performed the Paal Abhishegam on 50-feet Tamannah cut-out during the release of Paiyaa. This was brought to the notice of the actress, who condemned such action.

Tamannah said that she is not aware of the fans club and will not support such actions. The actress maintained that only Gods should be worshipped in this manner and this practice must be denounced.

RAMBHA CLARIFIES ON HER WEDDING

Rambha is preparing to tie the knot with Canada-based businessman Indra Kumar at a traditional wedding ceremony that is due to take place in Tirupati on April 8th, 2010. The reception will be held at the Rani Meyyammai Hall in Chennai at a later date. The entire film fraternity is expected to attend the reception though the wedding is for close family and friends.

Speaking about her marriage, Rambha says that it is an arranged marriage. She clarified that she was signed up as a brand ambassador for Indra Kumar’s company but eventually he asked for her hand in marriage through a formal request to the elders in the family. Rambha says that she will continue to act even after her marriage.

ARYA COMPLAINS…

Telugu film Varudu, in which Arya plays the villain, was released a few days ago. When the reporters asked Arya on why he decided to play the baddie when he is a well-accepted hero in Kollywood, he replied that being an actor he should not look for specific roles and end up being stereotypical.

Soon after the release of Varudu, which has Allu Arjun and Banu Mehra in the lead roles, Arya filed a complaint at the Nadigar Sangam that his salary was not settled by producer Dhanayya even after repeated requests. This complaint was taken up by the Nadigar Sangam and its president Sarathkumar held discussions with the producer to resolve the issue. Following the Sangam’s intervention, Arya’s dues were settled.
